PARISH COUNCIL
Parish Council meetings
The Parish Council usually meets on either the first or second Thursday of every month. The usual meeting venue is The Pavilion at King George V Playing Field (KGV) Drayton High Road, Drayton, Norwich NR8 6AW, unless stated otherwise on the agenda.
Members of the public are invited to attend any Full Council or Committee meeting, and there is space in every meeting to address the Council during Public Speaking on any item on the agenda. The agendas are published both on the website and also on the village noticeboards.
The Council currently has vacancies, if you have an interest in joining the Council attending a meeting is a good way to learn about the work the Council is currently engaged in.

THE ROLE OF THE CLERK
The Council employs a Parish Clerk who is the ‘Proper Officer’ of the Council and has responsibility for the smooth and legal running of the Council’s business along with the Financial Management. The Clerk's role has executive powers.
They are the first point of contact for the Council and all correspondence comes to, and is issued by, the Clerk on behalf of the Council. The Clerk implements the decisions of the Council where necessary.
The Clerk prepares, circulates and displays the agendas. They sign notices and summons with a list of the business to be transacted.
The Clerk is required to attend meetings, take minutes, keep Council minutes in a book and hold other legal documents.
